Welcome

Hi, my name is Max Morenberg.

I taught grammar, linguistics, and writing at Miami University in Ohio for 33 years and writing at Northwood University in West Palm Beach for 3 years. I published 7 books and 18 academic articles. I also won over $3 million in grants over 22 years for the Ohio Writing Project, one of the premiere sites of the National Writing Project, a program to train elementary and secondary teachers of writing. I initiated and co-directed OWP for those years.

Two of my textbooks have sold well for years: The Writer's Options, in its 8th edition, and Doing Grammar, which was published in its 4th edition in 2010.

I began WritingMax at the suggestion of a friend in business, who told me how difficult it is for her to find competent editors. My original idea for an editing service has grown to satisfy the needs of writers who have contacted me. I now also help writers accomplish other goals, not simply edit their completed work.

I help them write memoirs, even take their data and turn it into text. I’ll help them write novels or nonfiction as well. And I tutor them personally.

My business has grown from proofreading and editing to proofreading and editing, writing and tutoring. They’re closely related. So, it’s a natural expansion.

I charge by the page or by the hour, whichever makes more sense in your situation, and whichever will be most reasonable for you.
